If David didn’t dance

Posted: November 19, 2013 in Media

It would be a pity if David didn’t dance before the ark, Mary didn’t anoint Jesus’s feet with her tears and wipe them with her hair, and Moses didn’t pray, “Show me your glory!” None of these things come from the pursuit of balance, but rather from the pursuit of God. Our devotion ought to correspond to God’s worth. His worth is extreme, therefore our devotion cannot be too extreme. No one has yet “gotten too excited about The Lord,” so that they need to calm down. Our problem tends to be in the precisely opposite direction. Our love is too cold.
