Some Biblical Guidelines for Work and Ministry

Question #1: How do we productively engage with the reality that work needs tend to outweigh the balance of our time and energy?

Answer: We focus on those few things that are critical to our role and we delegate the rest.

Question #2: How do we productively apply the truth that God made each of us with unique strengths and weaknesses?

Answer: We aim to spend the majority of our time and energy working in areas of strength.

Question #3: Given that work needs tend to outweigh our time and energy, and given that God made each of us with unique strengths and weaknesses, what sort of leadership structure makes the best sense?

Answer: A team of gloriously imbalanced specialists who are well-partnered to achieve an effective and healthy overall balance of gifts.

Question #4: Given the reality of aging and death, how do we engage our work in a way that increases the likelihood that it will fruitfully continue without us?

Answer: We work in a way that mentors the next generation of leaders who will soon take our place.
